<p data-start="267" data-end="356">

<p data-start="538" data-end="580">You’re not alone; and you’re not failing.</p>
<p data-start="582" data-end="786">Screens are everywhere. Tablets, phones, TVs, educational apps, YouTube, games. We’re raising children in a world no previous generation of parents had to navigate. And that alone deserves a little grace.</p><p data-start="582" data-end="786"><br></p>

<h2 data-start="793" data-end="839"><strong data-start="796" data-end="839">Why Screen Time Feels So Heavy for Moms</strong></h2>
<p data-start="841" data-end="904">Screen time isn’t just about devices; it’s about <strong data-start="891" data-end="903">pressure</strong>.</p>
<p data-start="906" data-end="918">Pressure to:</p>

<p data-start="276" data-end="615">Fear is something every child experiences: fear of the dark, fear of being alone, fear of bullies, fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of the unknown. As parents, our instinct is often to reassure, distract, or remove the fear as quickly as possible. But Scripture offers us a deeper, more lasting approach: <strong data-start="554" data-end="614">teaching our children to trust God in the middle of fear</strong>.</p>
<p data-start="617" data-end="714">The Bible reminds us that fear is not something to be ignored, but something to bring before God.</p>
<blockquote data-start="716" data-end="773">
<p data-start="718" data-end="773"><em data-start="718" data-end="760">“When I am afraid, I will trust in You.”</em> — Psalm 56:3</p>

<p data-start="775" data-end="897">Teaching children how to trust God when they’re afraid is one of the most valuable spiritual foundations we can give them.</p><p data-start="775" data-end="897"><br></p>
<hr data-start="899" data-end="902">
<h2 data-start="904" data-end="939"><strong data-start="907" data-end="939">Why Children Experience Fear</strong></h2>
<p data-start="941" data-end="1103">Children’s fears are real; even when they seem small to adults. Their world is full of things they don’t yet understand, and their emotions are still developing.</p>
<p data-start="1105" data-end="1126">Common fears include:</p>
<ul data-start="1127" data-end="1309">

<li data-start="1258" data-end="1309">
<p data-start="1260" data-end="1309">Fear of making mistakes or disappointing others</p>

<li data-start="1258" data-end="1309">Fear of being bullied or mocked by peers</li>

<p data-start="765" data-end="983"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignleft wp-image-3503 size-thumbnail" src="https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-2.54.04-PM-150x150.webp" alt="How to teach your children to pray" width="150" height="150" />Teaching children to pray is one of the most meaningful responsibilities of parenting, yet many parents feel unsure where to begin. You may desire for your children to grow up knowing how to talk to God, but between busy schedules, short attention spans, and your own uncertainties, prayer can feel difficult to make consistent.</p>
<p data-start="765" data-end="983">The good news is this: <strong data-start="788" data-end="872">teaching your children to pray does not have to be complicated or time-consuming</strong>. With a simple routine and intentional guidance, prayer can become a natural part of your child’s daily life.</p>
<hr data-start="985" data-end="988" />
<h2 data-start="990" data-end="1026">Why Teaching Kids to Pray Matters</h2>
<p data-start="1027" data-end="1263">Prayer is more than a habit; it is a relationship. When children learn to pray, they learn that God is present, attentive, and approachable. They begin to understand that they can bring their thoughts, fears, and hopes directly to Him.</p>
<p data-start="1265" data-end="1456">Children who grow up hearing prayer spoken over them and with them often develop a stronger sense of faith, security, and trust in God. Even short, simple prayers can leave a lifelong impact.</p>
<hr data-start="1458" data-end="1461" />
<h2 data-start="1463" data-end="1514">When Should You Start Teaching Children to Pray?</h2>
<p data-start="1515" data-end="1732">The best time to start is <strong data-start="1541" data-end="1548">now</strong>, no matter your child’s age. Young children learn prayer through<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-3504 size-thumbnail" src="https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-2.47.24-PM-150x150.webp" alt="daily prayer" width="150" height="150" srcset="https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-2.47.24-PM-150x150.webp 150w, https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-2.47.24-PM-300x300.webp 300w, https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-2.47.24-PM-100x100.webp 100w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /> repetition and example. Older children benefit from guidance, structure, and encouragement to pray in their own words.</p>
<p data-start="1515" data-end="1732">There is no “perfect age” or “perfect way.” What matters most is consistency and sincerity.</p>
<h2 data-start="1832" data-end="1886">A Simple 5-Minute Daily Prayer Routine</h2>
<p data-start="1887" data-end="2030">Many parents believe prayer requires long, quiet moments that feel impossible in real life. In truth, <strong data-start="1989" data-end="2029">five focused minutes a day is a very good start.</strong></p>
<p data-start="2032" data-end="2086">Here is a simple routine that works even on busy days:</p>
<ol data-start="2088" data-end="2229">
<li data-start="2088" data-end="2127">
<p data-start="2091" data-end="2127"><strong data-start="2091" data-end="2125">Read one short scripture aloud</strong></p>
</li>
<li data-start="2128" data-end="2172">
<p data-start="2131" data-end="2172"><strong data-start="2131" data-end="2170">Pray that scripture over your child</strong></p>
</li>
<li data-start="2173" data-end="2229">
<p data-start="2176" data-end="2229"><strong data-start="2176" data-end="2229">Speak a short declaration or affirmation together</strong></p>
</li>
</ol>
<p data-start="2231" data-end="2256">This routine can be done:</p>
<p data-start="2259" data-end="2289">            &#8211; In the morning before school        &#8211; At bedtime</p>
<p data-start="2307" data-end="2325">            &#8211; During breakfast                              &#8211; In the car</p>
<p data-start="2342" data-end="2406">Short, daily prayer builds confidence and familiarity over time.</p>
<hr data-start="2408" data-end="2411" />
<h2 data-start="2413" data-end="2465">Helping Children Learn What to Say When They Pray</h2>
<p data-start="2466" data-end="2675">One of the biggest challenges children face is not knowing <em data-start="2525" data-end="2531">what</em> to pray. This is where structure helps. When children hear prayers rooted in Scripture, they learn how to pray God’s Word over their own lives.</p>
<p data-start="2677" data-end="2756">Encouraging children to repeat simple, Scripture-based declarations helps them:</p>
<ul data-start="2757" data-end="2881">
<li data-start="2757" data-end="2787">
<p data-start="2759" data-end="2787">Build confidence in prayer</p>
</li>
<li data-start="2788" data-end="2813">
<p data-start="2790" data-end="2813">Learn biblical truths</p>
</li>
<li data-start="2814" data-end="2846">
<p data-start="2816" data-end="2846">Memorize Scripture naturally</p>
</li>
<li data-start="2847" data-end="2881">
<p data-start="2849" data-end="2881">Develop their own prayer voice</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p data-start="2883" data-end="2978">Over time, children begin to pray independently, drawing from what they’ve heard and practiced.</p>
<hr data-start="2980" data-end="2983" />
<h2 data-start="2985" data-end="3030">Making Prayer a Family Habit (Not a Chore)</h2>
<h2 data-start="2985" data-end="3030"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignleft wp-image-3505 size-thumbnail" src="https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-6.54.37-PM-150x150.webp" alt="Teaching Kids to pray" width="150" height="150" srcset="https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-6.54.37-PM-150x150.webp 150w, https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-6.54.37-PM-300x300.webp 300w, https://www.twinsandenny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-23-at-6.54.37-PM-100x100.webp 100w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></h2>
<p data-start="3031" data-end="3092">Prayer does not need to be formal to be effective. It can be: -Short    -Honest    -Spoken aloud    -Done together</p>
<p data-start="3150" data-end="3284">What matters most is that prayer becomes part of your family’s rhythm, not something reserved only for special moments or emergencies.</p>
<p data-start="3286" data-end="3398">If you miss a day, extend grace to yourself and begin again. Faith is built through persistence, not perfection.</p>
<hr data-start="3400" data-end="3403" />
<h2 data-start="3405" data-end="3458">A Gentle Tool to Support Your Family’s Prayer Life</h2>

									Honestly, I was tired of feeling stuck when it came to praying as a family. I didn’t always know what to say, how to keep the kids engaged, or how to make prayer feel real and relevant for them. I wanted something simple, something we could pick up any time—before heading out in the morning, during bedtime routines, before dinner, after a rough school day—and actually feel connected to God as a family. I kept wishing I had a simple tool that helped me lead my kids spiritually without overthinking it. That’s why I put together the Family Prayer Book—because I knew other moms felt the same way. </div>
